oh wow. i didn’t see this until now. i guess i’ve only (yeah ONLY) been on youtube for a year and 10 months. i guess i missed the “golden age” of youtube. i really want to be more interactive but i find myself straining just to make a video. i’m subbed to quite a few youtubers but only a handful do i watch regularly.
thanks for the linkage; i do have some old school joshsource stuff coming up…it just might take a while to get around to it.

I used to make youtube videos 2006-2007 BUT I gained weight and so I stopped. BUT I am gonna do the Shayloss thing and I will start doing them again. I just need some IDEAS.

I was just saying who i think you should check out, i only watch 2 people on Youtube, thats you and him. I like his stuff, the rest of the people that make things is just kind of boring like that fred guy andwhatnot, its all pointless. Not saying you should be like him, or you are like him though.
Except not young, cool, and good looking, and I don’t do fancy greenscreen backdrops… so… if you’re just going on the “topical vlog” thing, I could also be a wannabe FLuffeetalks, SXEPhil, Zipster08, Geriatric1927, Renetto, and on and on and on…

i love the community media element of youtube. i remember when cable access my main option: it took months to get certified and a year of volunteering before i was allowed to produce my own tv show. and even then, the only indicators for understanding a show’s impact was viewer snail mail and phone calls. i can’t even BEGIN to say how thankful i am that a thing like youtube exists today for ppl who have the energy to create!

I probably subscribe to about 120 people right now, but only have time to watch maybe 15-20 of them regularly. I’d love more time to watch them all. Meanwhile I have probably 3500 “subscribers” but maybe only 200 “active” subscribers who have actually been on the site in the last two years and watched a vlog or two. Meanwhile, I get home from a short trip and find lots of new subs in my inbox, wondering how/why, and now I see – Thanks!

Did I say 1200? I can’t remember, but I thought it was 12K… I’d LOVE 12K subs… Renetto doesn’t post so much here ’cause he’s lost the “attention factor” he was getting… but I’d be quite smitten with his numbers.

I’m busy at the moment and wanted to post some Christmas videos… last night was the 1st day in a couple of weeks I had some free time and guess what I did… I spent it editing for the people that I hope at least, look forward to my videos… it’s had about 10 comments, and 70 views.
The reasons for success on YT are a hard thing to quantify.

I’m with you on the Intro & Outro thing. Some of them really annoy me & actually put me off watching certain peoples videos.

I view You Tube in 2 distinct ways. There a re the BIG tubers,who I may not subscribe to,but I have bookmarked their page on my browser. I go to the page about 1 time a week,to see what they have done. My more favorite tubers,I have as subscriptions,so that I can catch their latest stuff,if they don’t post frequently,amd I might miss it,or waste tim hitting a bookmark with no new content. I sub to Battim,I like his take on things, I miss Marta Costello and Gnooze.
I’m really fond of DelaneWazHere, Aussie who doesn’t make videos too often anymore, but when he does he cracks me up every time.
I reckon some more subscribers would motivate him a lot.
Especially check out his videos “Accountant Call” and “Dry Lips & The Topic of Tung”.

So I don’t have any cats so no cat videos.. But.. A couple of years ago I did go to the zoo and got like 3 seconds of a lion on film so I attached that. Enjoy.
