This is one of the Hummingbirds favorites. They are very territorial and they will fight over the feeders. Their antics remind me of the old airplane dogfights. They’ve gotten used to seeing me in the garden and I can get very close to them. I’ll talk to them and they’ll cock their little heads and you know they are listening. I’ve gotten a lot of enjoyment from these little birds.

This is a nice hummingbird feeder. The hummingbirds like it.
Contrary to what the first reviewer said:
- Mine doesn’t leak at all.
- The base splits in two for easy cleaning.
- It’s nice and sturdy. Attached with a thick copper wire, it doesn’t swing in the windy area where it is located.
It fills in a snap — simply push the container into the base, which seals the bottom, open the top to fill it, then once it hangs in place pop it back. No need to try to hold it upside down when filling it.
It’s also super easy to clean, which of course you want to do every time you fill it: unscrew the container and the base splits in two to make it trivial to clean inside. The usual trick of cleaning the yellow “drinking” holes with the body of a wooden match works, it’s a perfect fit. Putting it back together is also super easy: clip the base together, screw the container, push it in to seal it, fill and close. Then pop it open once on the hanger.

We were looking for a wider, lower-profile hummer feeder that wouldn’t sway as wildly, as our area is quite windy. This looked the part. But BEWARE!! I don’t think the mfr. even tested this feeder! Within a single day, all the sugar water leaked out the bottom, creating exactly the sticky mess we’d hoped to avoid. Even when sitting on a level surface it did this. The problem seems to be a completely unnecessary two-piece construction for the red base, and a completely pointless foam plug at the bottom…BOTH of which leak horribly. Was able to glue together the two halves of the base, but there is no way to fix that foam plug.
Don’t waste your money!
